The Cleveland Cavaliers are an American professional basketball team based in Cleveland. The Cavaliers compete in the National Basketball Association (NBA) as a member of the league’s Eastern Conference Central Division. The team was founded on March 2, 1970, and played its first game during the 1970–71 NBA season.

The Cavaliers’ home arena is Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse, which they share with the Cleveland Monsters of the American Hockey League (AHL). Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse is located in downtown Cleveland.

The Cavaliers’ colors are wine, gold, and navy blue. Their mascot is Moondog.

The Cavaliers have won one NBA championship, in 2016. They defeated the Golden State Warriors in the Finals, becoming the first team in NBA history to come back from a 3–1 series deficit to win the championship.
