Justus Hollatz Basketball Career Information

Hollatz grew up in the Langenbek district of Hamburg. He came to basketball through a basketball working group at the Marmstorf elementary school and then played like his two older brothers Joshua and Jacob in the youth team of BG Harburg Hittfeld. He also played soccer and auditioned for the FC St. Pauli youth team. Because the club was so far from his parent’s home, he didn’t take the opportunity to move to St. Pauli. Since he preferred basketball, Hollatz ultimately gave up soccer. According to Hollatz, his career prospects in basketball were higher than in football.
In the 2016/17 season, Hollatz averaged 20.1 points per game for Harburg Hittfeld’s U16 team in the youth basketball league.
During the 2017/18 season, Hollatz made his debut at SC Rist Wedel in the 2nd Bundesliga ProB and also played for the U19 Pirates Hamburg, the youth team of the Hamburg Towers, in the youth basketball league.
For the 2018/19 season, he was also included in the Towers squad and celebrated his debut in the 2nd Bundesliga ProA on the first day of the game in a duel with Baunach.
